Weeky Notes July 11th

This weeks lotto winning numbers were 9, 10, 14 & 25 and we no jackpot winner and there was one match three Alan Kavanagh Ardgaineen, Michael Higgins Ardgaineen won the promoters prize and next weeks jackpot will be €7300 with the in the Club House on Monday night.
Played in Cregg on Friday evening we lost by one point to Tuam Stars in the Sweeney Oil League, We dominated for most of the hour but we left our scoring boots at home leading at half time by two points 0-7 to 0-5 with our scores coming from Damien Burke 0-5 and a point each from Anthony Pender and Brendan Dooley.
The second half saw us score only one point from a free by Mathias Coleman after ten minutes and with our Championship game against Claregalway on next Sunday there will have to be a mark improvement from midfield up if we are going to advance in the competition.

The Club monthly meeting is on to night (Wednesday) in the club house at 9pm.
The Senior Championship game against Claregalway is on in Corofin next Sunday at 3.30pm and we hope for big parish support on the day.
2007 Football summer camp will run from Monday 16th July to Friday
20th July. Camp will start at 10.00am and finish at 2.30pm each day.  The camp will cost € 40 for one €60 for two and €75 for thee or more.

Good win for our Junior Hurlers as we beat Carnmore by 3-13 to 1-8 in the C Championship. We lead at half time 2-8 to 0- 5 after playing with the wind. Ciaran O’Connor struck four first half points from wing forward. Carnmore got a good start to the second half scoring a goal and a point after been camped in the Annaghdown half for the first 10mins but we finished stronger to run out winners

Ladies Football
Our Under 10’s are really doing us proud these days with a fabulous win over Caltra last weekend. They was some great defending by Jean O’Hara, Sophie Ramburg, Fiona Lawless and Gemma Burke and other players who deserve mention are Ciara Quinn, Vicky Furey, Aoife Shields and
Emer Walshe. The final shoreline was Annaghdown 6-11 to Caltra 2-04. Their next outing is against Caherlistrane and training continues tonight  in Cregg at 7pm.
Training for Under 12’s in Corrandulla on Thursday evening at 7pm. Training for Under 14’s continues on Monday evening at 6.30 in Cregg and.training for U16’s in Cregg on Friday evening at 6.30.
The League recommences for our seniors next weekend when they meet Tuam/Cartoon. Dates, times and venue will be given at training
Well done to the Galway Ladies U14 team on winning the All Ireland Quarter Final against Laois. They have now meet Kerry in the All Ireland Semi Final in two weeks time. Well done to our own
representatives on the panel Claire Delaney (Captain), Alison Burke, Rachel Murphy and Cliona Killilea.
Our Solothon has been rescheduled for Friday 20th July.  This is our main fund-raising activity of the year so we are asking all players to put in an extra special effort for the next 10 days. There are some brilliant prizes for those who collect the most in each age category and an overall prize – they include Leisure and Gym Club membership, Hair and Beauty vouchers and Supermac’s vouchers etc.
