Win for Under 17s in Round 1

November 7, 2018

Round Towers V Walterstown

                          10 FEBRUARY 2018

The Under 17s travelled to Kilmainham for their first Spring League Division Two match.
The hosts deserve great credit for the condition of the pitch, given the time of year and recent weather. Two evenly matched teams went on to provide an entertaining match, which the hardy band of home and away supporters appeared to enjoy.
Both teams were happy to mix their running games with long and accurate kick passing, to ensure scoring chances were created at both ends. A well worked Walterstown goal was the main difference between the teams in the first half.
Half Time: Round Towers 0-10 Walterstown 1-9
Walterstown scored a second goal shortly after the restart, to open up what was a significant five-point lead in an otherwise tight match. However, the home team went on to raise their own green flag to narrow the deficit. Walterstown continued to create chances and take their points to run out deserved winners, with every panel member making a positive contribution to the result. There was no shortage of talent in home team, never gave up the chase.
